What an interesting day with the Gallaudet Board of Trustee (BOT) Finance and Student Advisory committee meetings! Paul Kelly, Gallaudet's Business Manager, regretfully informed the BOTs that he couldn't possibly completed the university finanical reports due to the latest situation. ~ ~ Wasn't he supposed to do the finanical reports in previous weeks with the "outside" accounting company to issue the formal audit reports? *stratching head*

The seating arrangements of Finance committee meeting ought to be questionable and scrtunized. Paul Kelly, Gallaudet's business manager sat NEXT to Harvey Goodstein, the respectable and hard-working BOT member. That was kinda a classic psychological intimidation of "would-be" inquistive BOT member. So someone would not engage in aggressive inquiries toward the targeted individual whose sit NEXT to him/her. IKJ also sat next to Ms. Boggeium, the acting BOT chairperson.

The Student Advisory committee meeting with the Graduate Student Association (GSA), the Student Body Government and the Concerned Kendall Parents. The student represenative from the GSA, expressed such a concern about the real lack of support from the university toward graduate students.

IKJ disappeared into the thin air after leaving the National Press Club this Tuesday afternoon. Many protestors commented "IKJ could not face his OWN people!" How true! JKF seen some of us, protestors out on her way back to Gally. Two Gally board members, Cheryl Heppner and (I do not get her name) walked around the campus without talking to students or anyone else. That unindentifed BOT member wore thegold-platted pin label - "SHHH". Why???? Y know what it really meant.

The Kendall Green campus already became the real "circus atompshere" with the frenzy hordes of mainstream media reporters and camerapersons since 7am. I was helping out the FSSA people with the media access. Three media outlets from the WJLA-7, WUSA-9 and WTTG Fox 5 I had to dealt with them for making an access to the protest leaders via student (Sean Moore and Anthony Mowl) and faculty spokesperson (Dr. Lewis and Laurene Simms). I helped out the press release in regard to Ryan Commerson's PNG status. Ryan Commerson and I were interviewed by the WRC 4 reporter about the Gallaudet University's practice of intimidation and use of fear to silence the dissenters. Ryan Comerson had a formal meeting with Dr. John Van Cleve (JVC), new DPS (Dept. of Public Safety, formerly DOSS) this Monday morning around 9am without any legal representative.

Ryan Commerson got the news that he was still on the PNG til May 13th. He would miss his girlfriend's Gally graduation. I contacted the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) this morning for the depostition on the behalf of Ryan Commerson.

There was the press conference with Dr. Jane Fernandes this noon (every day at noon except tommorow Wednesday afternoon. Alot of students logistically asked Dr. JKF endless questions. Dr. JKF - "Leo" herself.

Everybody quipped that this situation might take 10-15 years . *sigh*

Frederick (Fred) J. Hall, former Gally student and RIT graduate, raised such an question why the Gallaudet University website did not post further information on the Board of Trustee members. Howard University DO post more detailed information on their Board of Trustee (BOT) from personal philosophy to current occupation. Fred pointed out why the Gallaudet University's BOT webpage did not identify whoever is deaf or hearing on the BOT makeover. Don't we have a right to know whose board of trustee member' audiological level and personal impact on their decision(s) greatly affecting our livehood and educational standards of the deaf?

Everybody know that the Gallaudet University and Howard University are the creation of the U.S. Congress in chartering the higher education institution for the so-called minorities. So therefore, we could make a real comparison of Gallaudet University to Howard University on the issue of openness (open society) to federal laws, ex. the Sunshine Law. Both universities receive substantial federal funds on annual basis.

The information disclosures on the makeover of Gallaudet University's Board of Trustees don't have to be really mystifying at all. The "Unify Gallaudet Now" movement have much legitimate reasons to confront and question the real fairness of presidential search process and the BOT's selection of new Gallaudet University President. How much really the hearing Board of Trustee members have influenced the selection of Dr. Jane Fernandes as the 9th President of Gallaudet University. Is that the content of audism inflirates the Gallaudet University's Board of Trustees' final decision? Have the GU's BOT really done their homework and embrace the yardstick of the community at large's inputs for their final decisions?

Was IKJ guilty of something? Why can't IKJ just stood like everybody else? When the Student Body Government (SBG) President, David Beckman called upon IKJ to the center of the facility. IKJ looked like a deer with headlights and awkwardly asked Beckman "Letter?"
